Why human scent can compromise your hunt.
When a hunter enters the woods, their scent begins to spread immediately. Carried by the wind, influenced by topography and air humidity, human odor clings to airborne particles and can travel long distances. Game animals like whitetail deer, moose and bear have an extremely developed olfactory system. Not only can they detect human scent from far away, but they are also capable of evaluating its direction and concentration to estimate your exact location and distance. The result: a simple air current can be enough to alert them… and cause them to leave the area before you even know they were there.
Predator Canada products were designed to considerably reduce this olfactory footprint. By treating your clothing, your body and your equipment with specialized products made from natural ingredients and synthetic pheromones, you neutralize human odors and replace them with a soft, forest-like scent that is familiar and non-threatening to game animals.
You are not invisible — but you become less of a threat. The game may still perceive something… but without certainty. All Predator Canada products are entirely designed, formulated and manufactured in Quebec. We use only local or Canadian ingredients, with no questionable imports or foreign subcontracting. Every step is controlled here, to guarantee consistent quality, adapted to our game, our climate and our hunting realities.
Do your products guarantee that game won't detect me?
No. No product can guarantee olfactory invisibility. What we do is significantly reduce your olfactory footprint and alter the perception of your presence using pheromones. The result: you become less threatening, which can prevent the animal from fleeing prematurely.
How does game detect human odor?
Whitetail deer, moose and bear have an olfactory system hundreds of times more powerful than that of a human. They detect molecules in the air, analyze their concentration, and can estimate your direction and distance simply through scent.
Are the pheromones natural or artificial?
We use synthetic pheromones, reproduced in a laboratory to mimic familiar and non-threatening olfactory signals for game animals. They are safe, biodegradable and designed to calm rather than stimulate.
How does human odor travel through the forest?
Human odor clings to moisture particles and dust, and can travel long distances carried by the wind. It can bounce off slopes, follow ravines, accumulate in low-lying areas and be detected long before you even arrive.
Do the products work even when the wind shifts frequently?
Yes, because they reduce the intensity and alter the nature of your odor. Even if the wind carries traces, they will be weaker and less alarming to game animals.
How long does the 30-06 masker effect last?
The effect lasts several hours, depending on humidity, temperature and activity level. It is recommended to reapply after physical exertion or when changing locations.
Can an animal still smell me despite your products?
Yes. The goal is not to eliminate every trace, but to reduce the signal and change the animal's reaction to the perceived scent.
